Our Work In Community

Transforming Lives in Our Community

See how Mountain of Joy Foundation is creating real impact for children with autism and their families in Arusha.

A Journey of Growth and Hope

When many children first join Mountain of Joy Foundation, they may experience challenges with communication, social interaction, or daily activities. Families often arrive seeking guidance and support as they learn to better understand their child’s needs.

Through our programs and continuous support for both children and their families, many children gradually develop important communication, social, and life skills. With time, they begin to participate more confidently in activities, interact with others, and build greater independence in their daily lives.

These journeys of progress and growth reflect the impact that understanding, patience, and the right support can have in transforming the lives of children with autism and bringing hope to their families.

Statement Of The Problem

  • Most of Children with disabilities in Tanzania are dependent due to shortage of early identification, Assessment and intervention.
  • The government, special education teachers, non-government org and religious institutions have tried to educate the community in urban area about children, youth and young adult with disabilities but there is a lack of enough effort to identify and overcome challenges facing children with disabilities in remote area.

More Effort is made to support Tanzanian young women and men who lack knowledge on when and how to identify the children with cognitive disabilities. Culturally people with cognitive challenges are viewed as a disgrace to the family hence unworthy of the opportunities to other people

Our Response

Mountain of Joy Foundation works to address these challenges by providing support that empowers both children and their families. Through awareness programs, family guidance, and life skills development initiatives, we help children build confidence, develop essential skills, and participate more actively in their communities.

By working closely with families, schools, and community members, we promote greater understanding of autism and encourage inclusive environments where every child has the opportunity to grow and thrive.
